Egon is, once again, showing up uninvited. He was excited to be home, to see his animals alive and well, all of that. He was anticipating the arrival of Boone, having things in all his place of work prepared, but he does have to come here.

"Reira," The kelpie will find him knocking on her door. Far calmer than last time. "May we speak?"

Rather disconcertingly, if Egon shows up early enough he'll find there's no answer. Actually there's a strong chance Tsukikage will answer to say 'she's not back', even.

Which is worrying in itself, when Priests are meant to revive instantaneously.

There's no answer initially, though one of the cats meows from inside and starts scratching on the door- so, he might as well open it.

His hand pauses over the doorway, waiting as the cat starts scratching before opening it tentatively, leaning in.

"Reira?"

"Mreewwwwww." The cat seems grateful at any rate- though now it's decided that the outside of the room isn't very interesting after all, and is trotting back into the room.

Reira herself doesn't answer- actually, it looks very much like she might not even be in the room. The lights are largely off- it's only the steady glow from the mushrooms allowed to grow along the walls that will really keep Egon from going 'cloudy' once he leaves the hall too far.

Well, that and the light that makes it through the water to the window.

But the cat certainly seems to be going...Somewhere?

"BEEP!" "Mrewwwww..!" "Beep! Beep!"

Well, then...

He's used to cryptic bullshit, so Egon follows the cat. The beeping tells him something related to the fourth is going on, so... there. He'll knock on the closet door and lean in just a bit, not daring to cross the threshold. The last thing he needs is to be fried right in front of her.

"Reira? I came to talk, if that's alright."

The robotic attitude immediately sours. Nervous and calm beeping becomes more distressed and forceful. Okay, the cat can't come in, but you! You definitely can't!

But they do not have to worry very long- not when Reira herself has been woken by one of the more nannying bots. Slowly, hoofsteps on the stairway echo, and Reira makes her way down. She didn't quite catch what Egon said but...

She can make him out from the stairs, by the door at least. "...Egon..?"

She's not inviting him in, but she's not telling him to go away at least.

He stays at the doorway, but maybe, just maybe, he will zap one of the robots hard enough to temporarily shut it up.

"I heard what happened. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. I have some... ideas, I'd like to help."

That is probably unwise. They will probably actually attack if he does that.

Don't zap them.

Anyway.

Reira's not sure what she needs. She's not sure if she needs to talk, or if she needs ideas, or anything. She knows she can't just stay in the arcade forever though, and she knows a few people have tried talking to her so far, so...

...

"...I can...come out," she slowly decides, walking toward the door to leave.

The robots of course will protest- but eventually she'll be out with the closet door shut.

She looks very much like she doesn't even know where the best place to talk is, now.

Egon squats down a ways, just to be eye level with her, looking just as exhausted and tired as he was before, though a little more gathered.

"Are you alright? I mean, I know what happened, but- if you need someone, I'm here. I want to help."

If she'll let him, he'll hesitate for a moment before giving the child a hug.

Well it's unexpected, but not unwelcome- hugs are always good, and honestly after the incident in Felfri she's a little more inclined to trust that Egon's not going to try and stab her in the back.

She's still not certain someone else wouldn't misuse his intentions with Elias, but she's pretty sure Egon doesn't need to know that. He'd probably assume he could work around it or. Something.

So the hug is happening, even if she's not really doing much toward it.

"...I don't know," she manages, voice wavering a bit as the upset from recent events starts welling up all over again. "...I thought I'd be okay by now...everyone keeps getting upset..." Not just online necessarily- people in the house, her family...

She doesn't like it when everyone's upset.

"Do you want my honest opinion?"

He breaks the hug after a moment, not too long but not short enough to feel insincere, and stands back a little to give her any needed space. It's almost calculated, but that's only because he's not good at it, and not sure what to aim for. Mostly, he wants to help.

"I think you need to take a break. You need to take care of yourself."

Well, that's confusing. Reira wipes semi-dry eyes for a moment, before sitting on the floor.

"...a break..?" Heh?

"I think... you have too many things on your plate. I know you're dedicated to the fourth, but this is a lot of stress to have on your shoulders as a child, and I want to help."

At the very least, he doesn't sound angry this time.

Reira is confused by the statement admittedly- and it shows, in how she looks up at Egon. As far as she had been aware after all, there hadn't been a lot on her plate until...well, Felfri itself.

And just like that, Felfri was over after all.

...And of course she's going to be at least a little suspicious from there. "...How?" she asks- the only thing she manages to get out. How would he do it, if he wants to help?

It's the continuous thing, really, the fact that it seems she's in a new sort of trouble every month because of Elias- and here it had come to a head.

"First, I'd encourage you to take a free week at the Lucky 38. A hotel room to yourself, you can have whatever you want, but I want you to have a good time and relax, take a break from the gods. And I know I'm not your caretaker, and I have no right to act like one, but I think you could use someone to help with things."

Despite their respective alignments, is the implied part.

It's the consequence of her lifestyle, truly- while one could argue schemantics to the moon and back, the fact remains that outside those incidents with the gods, no one really interacts with Reira outside of the house. Her 'social' life is dominated by...humans.

So as much as it's not literally every month, it sure as hell feels like it to every monster in the country.

Also-

"....I thought 'minors' aren't supposed to go to casinos..." she murmurs, sounding less suspicious and more like a child who's just been told that going into the woods at night would not, in fact, get them swallowed by a tree.

(Though to be fair, that would be a valid warning in this place)

Also- "....are you telling me to take a vacation..." She sort of thought she took plenty of those in the godly sense- but, after all...

It really doesn't look like it to the outside observer.

(Mostly it's just rather ironic, she feels- she's been telling Tsukikage to take more of them for Ages now)

Boy, you really need someone to watch over you, huh. Not that Egon really couldn't use a proper guardian of of his own. He nods a little a little and shrugs.

"You don't have to gamble, and I'd encourage you not to, but I can offer a suite. But yes, I'm telling you to take a vacation from all of this."

This...is confusing. "...Oh."

But not in a bad way she supposes. "...I guess it sounds nice." She would certainly like a break from the World at this point. Reira won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Erm.

"...But...what else do casinos have?"

She thought it was all gambles sir,

"Not... much." He rubs the back of his neck, staring at the ceiling with two eyes as he thinks.

"Oh! But, I can give you tokens and you can play, then exchange them for sweets and soda. I can put Taako on duty."

Wait what-

"...what am I playing if I'm not supposed to 'gamble' though..." She's not quite clued into the idea that she'd be allowed to technically gamble with what she was given here.

Also- "Mnh- ...you know Taako?"

"It's not gambling if you're not at risk of losing anything." He offers.

"And yes, why?"

What.

"I thought gambling was if you were doing anything with cards and machines in a casino..."

She has a very limited understanding of this, though that's probably a good sign in itself.

As is- "Umn! He's just someone I know on the network...he's cool."

"No, it's when you bet money without guaranteed returns. Frankly a little irresponsible, but it's how I'm making my living." He shrugs. "If you're just playing for fun, no harm no foul."

It is probably a good sign. Good that she knows Kain as well, to an extent. It means he's not the only foggy she at least is on good terms with.

This is just a mess.

"Umnhhh... ...Ok? ...what kind of games are there then?" She knows Cards and Slot Machines are a thing, but she's never really bothered asking about specifics for obvious reasons.

"Well there's poker, 21, Rook, slots, craps-"

He wasn't familiar with them. "Why don't you just explore for yourself? You can also use the library I installed."
