Reira has what amounts to Typical Empathy; while it's a basic ability, it's still one that warrants some fair warning, so this post exists for those who wish to opt out (or in!) from it.
The ability works along the following points:
* Provided something is nearby (as in, speaking range), Reira can naturally pick up on the feelings of that something; while things as alien as plants, or similar, might as well just be Objects In Space, this means a nearby animal or person would be naturally 'readable'.
* While Reira is able to identify the emotions around her, she does not experience them herself-if asked to describe what she does feel, she'll actually be fairly stuck on how to explain it, as it's more along the lines of intuition-if someone was mad beside her, she wouldn't experience that anger-she would just realize they were angry themselves.
* In part due to this, and also due to her own struggle to re-learn how her own emotions function as it is, Reira cannot always describe the most of the exact feelings people experience. It's easy with simpler cases, such as animals; their emotions are typically not very complicated. With people however, it means that she not only needs to come up with her own words for what she's faced with, but she may even be wrong to an extent; describing a feeling as the closest thing she recognizes (Anxiety as 'a little scared' for example).
* Naturally, another's emotions do not cause her direct pain either; rather, any flinching motions or expressions of pain are likely to be from either shock (a sudden change of someone's emotions) or her own fear and stress (psychosomatic, in other words; Reira is a victim of war, and still carries a degree of residual trauma relating to this.) Thanks to her personal efforts, she has dulled this response down to the sort of flinching typically associated with loud noises.
That in mind, if you have specific points you feel will be worth noting when interacting with this ability, just fill the form below and leave a comment! (Additionally, if you would prefer certain aspects of her trauma not come up in future threads, feel free to leave a note for that!)

State of General Being: Foster is usually a weird blank. He is so low empathy he may in fact be NO empathy. It doesn't matter how many kinds of empathy you define, the result is the same super deficit of it. He also has anhedonia so severe that he's almost completely incapable of deriving enjoyment from just about anything. The emotions he does feel are all pretty driven by his psychosis--and therefore sort of artificially inflated. They're so much more 'real' than reality that he is sort of obligated to act them out, but even when he's doing something obvious like laughing, even if there is a superficial connection to the emotion it represents, beneath the first layer, it just sort of turns back into that devoid state.
The only emotions he can experience with any sincerity are negative; his self-loathing and bitterness can be pretty fucking intense, and if someone's managed to earn his contempt or hate, he does know how to feel that. Otherwise, the most he gets is 'mildly disgruntled' or 'annoyed at an inconvenience but also he doesn't care.'
The only things that really make him happy are... like, being in deliberately inflicted pain, and people just actively depriving him of any rights or free will. The first one is thrilling and intense but also validating and inexplicably stabilising, the second is validating and almost soothing?
Possible Tells/Barriers: Foster's not very subtle about himself--he drools, his buries his claws in his hair, he digs his fingers (well, claws) into existing wounds to stabilise himself. But he is also very much... he's very performative. A lot of what he "feels" isn't definite emotion at all, technically, so much as increasing and decreasing levels of tension or agitation. When he has an 'impression' of something, it's more like a flavour of static, or an extremely disconnected 'vibe' that he can discard by choice or performance, and because he's so poorly in control of his outer state (regardless of inner state!) he often 'acts' more of an emotion that he has.

State of General Being: Flowey has no damn soul. I mean, he has one in the definition of the game, but he has no feelings. None, except for what he entered with and what gets crossed off his list. He knows how to act to fake a feeling, and by the end of the game when you reboot he asks you to leave the other characters alone, but it's more that he's learned his lesson than an actual feeling of protection.
He currently has pettiness and antagonism, and he gets some joy out of using them because they're finally real feelings.
Possible Tells/Barriers: He's easy to read, no mind barriers or nothing. She may notice him regaining more as time goes on and take an interest in the fact that he's getting more emotions?

State of General Being: Taako is generally pretty chill, bordering on apathetic; as of lately in Lost Carnival, he's annoyed and antsy because he can't be at home with his sister and boyfriend as he desperately wants to be, but he knows he's stuck here until he sees this thing through. He does have a tendency to lie, ESPECIALLY about his emotions, and ESPECIALLY about deeper emotions such as genuine affection or worry.
Possible Tells/Barriers: While Taako IS extremely super magic, he doesn't have any spells to actually block intruders from his head; he's a compulsive liar, and while he can be pretty smooth about it face-to-face, I'm sure she'll pick up on just how fake he is when asked about how he's feeling, how he feels about certain people, things like that. Taako does NOT talk about his emotions openly if at all possible, unless he's in a very particular kind of mood. That said, his default state is apathy, so ANY kind of emotion besides "meh" or "smug" will be a pretty big change from the norm for him.

State of General Being: Herbert is generally feeling pretty vaguely intent about something. I know I just said pretty AND vaguely but like... He's always hyperfocused on whatever it is he's feeling or thinking about but it only switches on properly if the thing is there? Like a searchlight travelling around and then getting brighter when it finds the target. It's partially reagent influenced but he comes by it naturally as well. Sometimes he's focussing too hard to express it and his words come out scattered.
Possible Tells/Barriers: He's got nothing supernatural going on aside from the potential weirdness of the reagent. Honestly, he only technically keeps a blank face, his emotions are pretty obvious over it a lot of the time. The flat expression isn't an act so much as just a screensaver, essentially. It's just that he's feeling either smug or bitter a lot of the time.

State of General Being: Anghel has the normal variation of emotions, but whatever he feels, Anghel tends to be kind of intense about it.
Possible Tells/Barriers: His abilities don't do much about emotions, so I don't think that will be the case here. As I said before Anghel himself can be intense, which I suppose could come across as broadcasting compared to other people's emotions. I'm not sure about that.

State of General Being: Stressed, focused, determined, insecure. He's an intense, focused sort of person with a sharp temper.
Possible Tells/Barriers: Nothing supernatural, but Yukio's extremely self controlled and most of the time his outward emotional expression is fairly limited.

State of General Being: god he's a trainwreck right now. I wrote it best on his personality info blurb, but because of his canon point and LC right now his emotions are pretty wild and tattered and he lacks a lot of his filter. He's forever a kind, sweet, incredibly sad person but right now he's so stressed and pulled ten different directions while being hunted by everything he loves or hates that it's pretty messy in there and he's prone to lashing out more.
Possible Tells/Barriers: None supernatural, not with the Noah in him sealed. If Reira can detect supernatural seals or barriers (or anything "evil")—his left eye is cursed and functions as a seal, and the Ringmaster sealed what's essentially another soul that's been eroding his own. But those have nothing to do with concealing his emotions.
Normally though, Allen crushes his feelings quite soundly and puts a smile on instead when he's feeling distressed, and he seeks to never burden anyone with his problems or feelings. Which has prompted to be said of him, "Allen must be all alone now, right? Alone! He's all alone! Because that's how he is... he carried so much sadness. So much, so much, and yet... he put on a smile and set out all alone. He's that kind of idiot."
But he's also very emotional, impulsive, and forthright at his core so it's a bit of a tug of war and situational if he wears his heart on his sleeve or tries to bottle his angst up. Generally it depends on if he thinks he's burdening someone or not. I generally write my tags in such a way to make it really easy to figure out his inner thoughts/feelings vs. outer!

State of General Being: Rita's emotions can be volatile and her outlook tends to be that of a realist, but she's generally good at getting over things and not dwelling on negative emotions for too long. Her temper can certainly flare up at the drop of a hat (though sometimes it's fueled by embarrassment and frustration instead of anger... which Rita doesn't like to admit). It also might be noticeable that Rita's insults and hostility don't always align with actual ill will on her part. She often says rude things to people she feels neutral or even positively towards.
Possible Tells/Barriers: Rita has no protections or other abilities that affect how Reira would perceive her emotions!

State of General Being: Eruka is pragmatic, for the most part, and her mental state might best be described as 'steady,' even cheerful. She's typically looking for opportunities to cause mischief or trouble, so there's a playfulness there. That said, she also spooks and becomes anxious fairly easily, and once she's found a reason to be afraid of something, she's very likely to spend time worrying over it.
Possible Tells/Barriers: When Eruka's under the effect of Soul Protect, it's possible that Reira may be less able to sense her as well, since it overall dampens her presence. Otherwise, she's an open book.
Muse Name: Lambert
State of General Being: A constant, low-level flicker of irritability occasionally spiking with anger. Around Childermass or Strange is the closest he gets to content, but even that isn't a guarantee. Perhaps surprisingly, at his most vicious, it seems like Lambert's able to shut out feeling entirely.
Possible Tells/Barriers: As per Portland rewards, Lambert is a Normal Fuckin Dude, meaning he has a minor resistance to supernatural phenomena. In practice, this probably means Reira doesn't pick up more than his most volatile moods.

State of General Being: Haruhi is pretty open with her emotions, making no attempt at hiding what she feels, thinks, ect.
Possible Tells/Barriers: Haruhi has no magical barriers whatsoever.
